Suzy Smith Racing - Home
Welcome to our Website.
We hope it gives you a good insight into how we work here at Suzy Smith Racing - our training ethos, our horses, the team and what it’s like to be an owner with us.
County Stables is set on the Old Lewes Racecourse right in the heart of the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty with a deep historical connection to horse racing. Lewes Old Racecourse was a functioning racecourse for over 250 years - from the 1700’s right up until it was closed in 1964 – much of the original racecourse fencing still lines our own gallops!
County Stables is a relaxed and happy place to train from. The horses are absolutely central to everything we do. Each horse is an individual and each is given the right care and time to develop mentally and physically to reach their potential. The wide open spaces of the Downs, the healthy fresh air straight off the sea, and the miles of bridle paths keep the horses fresh and interested in their work.
We are an ambitious and growing yard. We love what we do and try our hardest to ensure that our owners share the fun and excitement of owning and training racehorses.
We pride ourselves on being honest and open with our owners and truly welcome their involvement in the horses’ lives.
Breaking News ...
Rosy World ran a massive race to just be beaten a head in the mares' bumper on debut at Ascot under Jack Sherwood. Should be plenty of good days ahead with this tough mare.
